By Becky Turner on Thursday, 31 Aug 2006 A new washing machine and a holiday to Florida are in store for a lucky Lincoln woman who scooped more than £20,000 on the bingo, the National Bingo Game Association reports.
The 49-year-old has been playing bingo for three decades and visiting the Gala Club in Saltergate for the last 11 years. Usually she goes with her daughter or her friend, but she was on her own when she won the National Afternoon Delight Game - pocketing a total of £20,617.
She is going to give half of the winnings to her daughter, because the two of them have a bingo agreement.
"Even though she wasn't with me, I'll still be sharing the winnings with her," she said. "We made an agreement and I'm sticking to it."
She also has three other children and three grandchildren, one of whom will be going with her on a trip to Florida.
"I still feel stunned but I'm over the moon," she exclaimed. "When I called 'house' I was hoping I may have won the regional [prize] but I couldn't believe it when I was told I had won the national too!"
