By Becky Turner on Thursday, 22 Jun 2006 Dundee seems to be the place where the hand of fate rewards bingo fans - two players pocketed a huge £197,000 between them in four days in the Scottish city last week. The first was when a 36-year-old woman won the National Game prize at the Gala Club in Lochee on June 14th, the National Bingo Game Association reports. She took home £100,000, together with a regional prize of £1,016 and a club prize of £97. The woman, who began playing bingo with her mother nearly 20 years ago, phoned her husband to tell him the good news. When she said how much she had won he didn't believe her. "He thought I was drunk," she said. "I had to put my mum and sister on to confirm it." Then, four days later, a 44-year-old postman was playing at the same bingo club when he won a total of almost £100,000. He plans to buy a new car and go on holiday with the winnings.
