The decision to use a "cheeky fox" as the advertising image of Foxy Bingo has proved to be successful, according to one review.
It has helped the online bingo site become a "household name", reports numbers game portal Bingostreet.com.
This has occurred despite the animal being described as "an unlikely creature" to hold associations with internet bingo.
Other features of the website that have been commended include the chatrooms and chatgames, which have contributed to a "buzzing community spirit".
It is important for bingo sites to convey the feeling of society through its online communities, the reviewer added.
Foxy Bingo has gained television coverage lately on ITV1's The Jeremy Kyle Show.
The online bingo site sponsors the programme, appearing on screen before each episode and when there are commercial breaks.
Wink Bingo has followed suit in recent weeks, organising a similar arrangement with All Star Family Fortunes.
