A 60-year-old woman is to share her £50,000 bingo win with her elderly mum.

The woman from Dundee, who won the prize from her local Mecca bingo club in the Douglasfield Leisure park, has claimed she will give a share of the money to her fellow bingo player - her 85-year-old mother.

The woman is no stranger to the bingo balls having played the game once a week for the past 40 years - but never has she scooped a prize this big.

The lucky winner, who works as a rehab assistant says she's going to use her share of the money to treat her husband and their three grandchildren for a cruise around the Mediterranean.

Talking about her win she said: "I just couldn't believe it when I was told I had won.

"At first I couldn't even drive home. My mum and I just sat in the car gob smacked!"

And she said that the news has yet to sink in much more with her mum: "My mum is so pleased about the win but she keeps saying, 'what am I going to do with all this money'!"
