By Becky Turner on Monday, 6 Aug 2007 A Glasgow granny of seven has told of her shock after scooping £25,000 at her local bingo hall.
The 69-year-old woman from Springburn close to the Scottish city was playing at the Gala Club at Hawthorn Road, Possil Park, where she plays twice-weekly with her daughter.
And not only did the pensioner share the total National prize of £50,000 with a player in Peterborough, but the lady, who has been married for 47 years, also won the house prize of £200.
"I still can't believe it," she told NationalBingo.co.uk.
"In fact I didn't even realise I had won the National as well because I was still in a dream after learning I'd won the house prize. It's just wonderful for us," she added.
The lucky bingo player who has two children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild says she will treat them all with some of her winnings, as well as installing a luxurious walk-in shower in her home.
