By Becky Turner on Thursday, 12 Jul 2007 A Glasgow grandad has scooped a £25,000 at his local bingo hall.
The 71-year-old man called house at the Mecca Forge Club in the city's Duke Street, sharing the £50,000 National Bingo Game prize with a woman from Manchester.
The grandfather-of-five said he was "over the moon" when he realised he'd won, having played at the same club three times a week for many years.
His wife, who plays with him and was there at the time, will no doubt be rubbing her hands with glee at the prospect of helping her husband spend some of his winnings.
The Scottish bingo player, who also has three children, remained modest saying he would "splash out a bit" with the money.
But the lucky retiree also admitted a brand new car was at the top of his wish list.
The Mecca Forge Club has gone through a bit of a lucky streak recently - not only did this man pick up a share in £50,000, but just two weeks ago a local woman won a staggering £100,000 jackpot!
