By Sarah Smithon Thursday, 28 Feb 2008 A woman from Golders Green was seeing platinum this week after she picked-up £390,000 playing bingo at her local club.
The 55-year-old, who wishes to remain anonymous, was playing the National Bingo's platinum jackpot play-off when lady luck took a shine to her.
Inderjeet Sing, who is the assistant manager at the club where the Golders Green resident won, told the National Bingo: "She didn't know how much she had won at first.
"I announced it gradually; first the house prize of £1,100, then the regional prize of £1,664, the National Game prize of £40,000 and finally half of the platinum jackpot play-off prize, £350,104."
According to Inderjeet, all 2,300 people in the club were standing up, clapping and cheering for the lady's win when the final amount had been announced.
The lucky lady is originally from the Philippines and plans to refurbish a church in her home village with the money.
She is currently engaged to be married to a retired doctor from Bracknell and she has three adopted children.
Many celebrities have admitted to being bingo fans including ex-Take That singer Robbie Williams.
