By Sarah Smithon Monday, 4 Aug 2008 A 62-year-old grandmother from Bellshill near Coatbridge has taken home over £168,000 - making her the second national winner this year from the town, National Bingo Game reports.
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, beat every player from another 470 clubs playing nationwide with a full house in 43 numbers and took £650 from the house, £1,064 from the zone, £6,880 from the national game and £160,250 in platinum jackpot prize money.
Easter also saw a woman from nearby Hamilton winning £1.2 million, breaking the world record for a bingo win.
The latest prize-winner said: "It was really strange. The date was the 27th of the 7th and number seven and 27 were the last two numbers I needed for the full house."
National Bingo Game reported on another grandmother who had been playing the game since age 20, winning £578,000 in her 45th year of attendance in Coventry at the end of June, splitting the prize money with her sister.
