By Penny Walker on Tuesday, 15 Jul 2008 A lucky granny is £320,000 richer after a recent visit to her local Gala Bingo club in Newcastle.
Uncluckyforsome.com reports that the lucky lady, who remains unnamed, scooped the hall's platinum jackpot prize.
Speaking to the bingo company's gaming body after her win, the bingo enthusiast said: "I am over the moon."
According to the news provider, she has been a bingo fan since she was a young girl but gave up the game for 20 years because she never won.
Louise Hewitt, who is the assistant manager at Gala Bingo, commented: "Every single person congratulated her but she was totally flummoxed! We have all been walking round with grins on our faces ever since; totally delighted for her."
The jackpot was won after the lady reached a full house on the national bingo game in 41 numbers and called bingo on number 90.
It was previously reported that an online bingo fan won over £17,000 on his first ever visit to William Hill online casino.
Casino Beacon notes that Scott Robinson of South Yorkshire scooped the prize within three hours of logging on.
