By Sarah Smithon Tuesday, 22 Jan 2008 A security guard from Airth has secured himself a £17,500 win playing bingo this week.
Having played every day for "many years" Allistar Aitken, aged 63, finally hit the big time while playing with his wife at the Gala Club in Kerse Lane, Falkirk.
It was on the National Bingo's Afternoon Delight Game when he finally completed a full house in 47 numbers, winning himself the jackpot.
Allistar's luck didn't stop there, however, as he then went on to win the house prize of £99.
He told the National Bingo: "I was working nights so I didn't want to go with my wife that day. I wanted to go back to bed! In the end I decided to go and it's a good job I did."
After the win Allistar said that he had a bit of trouble taking the news in.
"I had to go to work afterwards and I was shaking like a leaf
My wife had a heart bypass last year and said her heart was going fast all night," he added.
The flush fellow, who has a daughter and one grandson, said he will put some of the money towards paying off his mortgage and use the rest to buy a new car and go on holiday in Benidorm.
