By Sarah Smithon Tuesday, 27 Jun 2006 Megastar Madonna has often tried to make the transition from singer to actress, invariably with tragic consequences - the latest being the straight-to-video flop Swept Away directed by husband Guy Ritchie. Now celebrity pal Gwyneth Paltrow is hoping to do the reverse, teaming up with Madonna producer William Orbit to record a track and possibly release a single. Evidently inspired by rock star hubby Chris Martin of Coldplay, Gwynnie has found that making music helps her relax and, according to The Sun, she and Orbit have "already done a track which will make a brilliant first single". A friend of Orbit said that the pair were happy with the track and were thinking about releasing it. She has reportedly been popping into the recording studio ever since the birth of her second child, Moses. Paltrow received a Best Actress Oscar for her performance in 1998's Shakespeare in Love. Meanwhile, Orbit produced Madonna's album Ray of Light, as well as Blur's 13.
