By Sarah Smithon Tuesday, 13 Jun 2006 Heather Mills McCartney has called allegations that she worked as a prostitute in her youth "untrue and highly defamatory" and plans to take legal action over the matter. An article that appeared in the News of the World newspaper over the weekend claimed that Heather, who recently split from former Beatle Paul McCartney, was paid thousands of pounds by rich Arabs for nights of passion. A statement released by her lawyers claims that she is "very distressed" by the article, and goes on to say that she has suffered "weight loss, anxiety and sleeping problems" because of stress brought about by her marriage break-up. She will now sue the newspaper. Heather and Paul McCartney announced that they were to split last month, suggesting that pressure from the media had added to their problems. The couple had been together for four years and had a daughter together, Beatrice. It has been suggested that Heather could receive up to £200 million of Paul McCartney's fortune as part of a divorce.
