By Sarah Smithon Friday, 30 May 2008 A 64-year-old part-time hospital admin assistant has won a staggering £639,000 playing bingo this week.
The lucky lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, is from Newton Poppleford and made her winnings at the Mecca Club in North Street, Exeter.
She said: "It just won't register how much I have won and I am still in shock…I had two or three medicinal brandies and woke up with a sore head this morning."
The flukey female added that she was grateful for the Bank Holiday Monday that she won on, as it gave her time off work to digest how much money she had won.
Her win was the biggest that the Exeter club has ever paid out to any of its members.
In related news, a Yorkshire woman was also celebrating this week after winning £187,000 playing at the Gala Club in Doncaster.
The lady said that she has to keep pinching herself to make sure that she isn't dreaming, but described winning as a "nice feeling".
