By Sarah Smithon Friday, 27 Apr 2007 Hugh Grant has been arrested after allegedly attacking a photographer outside his London home.
The star of Bridget Jones' Diary and Notting Hill was apparently caught on an off-day when photographer Ian Whittaker tried to get a snap of him.
Hugh is said to have lost his cool, hurling abuse at the snapper before kicking him and then throwing a tub of baked beans.
Photographs have since appeared in the Daily Star, showing the actor with the beans raised above his head and appearing to kick Whittaker.
The Metropolitan police have confirmed that a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with an assault allegation, with the alleged incident taking place on Redcliffe Road.
Police also revealed that the man has been bailed until May.
In other news, Hugh has been awarded libel damages over coverage of his split from Jemima Khan. The star is to donate the money to the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
