She dropped the bombshell in an exclusive interview with US OK! Magazine, revealing the father of the child to be "long term partner" Casey Aldridge, who the butter-wouldn't-melt teen met in church.
However her shock revelations opened a can of legal worms, as the age of consent in Louisiana is 17 and some reports suggest that her 19-year-old boyfriend could face charges for his sexual escapades.
The supposedly squeaky-clean star of Nickelodeon TV show Zoey 101 is the sister of pop phenomenon Britney Spears, who this year lost custody of her two children, both aged under two-years-old.
When paparazzi asked the star how she felt about her little sister getting knocked-up so young, Brit replied "my sister is not pregnant", prompting speculation her family had left her to find out the news in the way they now find out about her life – through the press.
To make matters worse Lynne Spears, mother of the broody twosome, was set to publish a faith-led book on parenting high-profile children.
However, since Jamie Lynn's revelations publishers have pulled the plug on the publication indefinitely.
Casey Aldridge's family also waded into the debacle today, claiming the promiscuous pair should make their love legal and tie the knot.
