By Sarah Smithon Monday, 7 Aug 2006 British Formula One driver Jenson Button finally broke his duck to win his first Grand Prix on Sunday, on his 113th outing.
The 26-year-old driver began back in 14th position on the grid in Hungary, but managed to fight his way into the lead after Championship leader Fernando Alonso and legendary Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher were forced to retire from the race.
It is something of a vindication for Button, who had faced criticism after failing to clinch a win after six years in Formula One racing.
"It is so good I don't have to do those interviews any more - now I can say I have a win I will feel a lot better," he said. "It's nice to get that first win and to get all that off my shoulders.
"I feel so numb. Wow - what a day. It has been amazing. If my voice sounds funny it is because I have been screaming so much."
It was the first time a British driver had won a Grand Prix since 2003. Pedro de la Rosa and Nick Heidfeld were also on the podium in second and third place.
