By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 27 Feb 2008 UK bookmaker Ladbrokes is rumoured to be in talks to buy online bingo specialist Parley Entertainment.
Parlay, which is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, runs bingo sites for Butlins, Ann Summers and Yahoo and is also be eyed-up by other parties interested in acquiring the firm.
It is not hard to see why the firm is estimated to be worth £6.5 million and some analysts bill it as the world leader in the online bingo industry.
Previously better-known as a land-based gambling firm, Ladbrokes ventured into the online world of gaming in 2006 with the launch of its state-of-the-art online casino.
Furthermore, the firm announced last month that it would not be bidding for any of the 16 casino licenses the government has created as part of its recent shake-up of the gaming laws.
In related news, members of Virgin Bingo are currently in with a chance of scooping the site's £22,174.11 giant jackpot, which is still waiting to be won.
