By Becky Turner on Friday, 1 Dec 2006 A 43-year-old factory worker from Leicester has won a £100,000 jackpot at a Gala Bingo club in Beaumont Leys.
The woman, who has been a keen bingo player for over 20 years, had previously won £2,000 seven years ago but expressed her surprise at scooping the jackpot, the National Bingo Game Association reports.
"I couldn't believe it when I was told I had won and neither could my husband when I rang and told him," she said.
Describing her success as "something that happens to other people", the lucky winner now plans to spend her winnings on her family.
The Gala Bingo club in Leicester recently hosted a special evening featuring a guest appearance by former X-Factor contestants G4, before they were due to embark upon their UK tour.
The band also performed at a bingo hall in Feltham in support of their new album.
