By Sarah Smithon Friday, 22 Dec 2006 Bingo players in at the Carlton bingo hall in Livingston have managed to raise £1,446 for charity this year.
The generous visitors to the club are donating the money to Breakthrough Breast Cancer following a week of activities held at the Almondvale centre, the West Lothian Courier reports.
Commenting on the successful fundraising activities held at the bingo hall, Shaun Gibson, manager at the Carlton club, told the newspaper that the players and staff had "outdone themselves" this year.
"Our bingo players have big hearts when it comes to charity," he said.
"We are delighted with the total amount of money raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer."
Earlier in the month, employees from Gala Bingoin Glenrothes chose to appear in a special calendar in aid of the charity, successfully raising over £3,700.
Taking their idea from the Calendar Girls movie, the 23 staff at the bingo hall bared all to raise the cash.
