By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 13 Feb 2008 A 33-year-old woman from Livingstone is reported to be over the moon after a big bingo win.
Cindy Geary bagged just over £11,000 at the Carlton Bingo hall in Almondvale on Sunday afternoon.
The lucky lady, unlike a series of other bingo players who are now locked in bitter legal disputes, is sticking to an agreement she made with her sister-in-law and a friend to split any winnings.
Cindy said of her win: "I cried when it was announced I had won and a big roar went up from everybody in the club."
"You always think something like this happens to somebody else but it really can happen to you," she added.
Cindy, who is a student nurse at Napier University, is married with two children aged ten and seven.
She has been playing the game for years and visits the club in Carlton once a week.
According to the National Bingo, over three million people play bingo regularly in the UK and around ten per cent of all women play.
