By Sarah Smithon Friday, 16 Nov 2007 Tabloid favourite Lindsey Lohan went to jail for 84 minutes this week – less time than it takes to watch her popular chick-flick Mean Girls.
In the latest saga of the wild-child's life, she was put behind bars in Los Angeles for drink driving and cocaine possession.
The 21-year-old actress, who shot to fame as a child star in The Parent Trap, was ordered in August to spend one day in jail, after pleading guilty to the charges and was told to serve her sentence sometime before January.
Back in July the Freaky Friday star was arrested following a car chase where she wrecked her car.
Like so many other stars Li-Lo checked into rehab shortly after the incident, for the second time this year, in an attempt to get herself clean and began attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Over recent years Lohan has become famed for her partying with ex-jailbird Paris Hilton, her fluctuating weight levels and increasingly erratic behaviour.
Lohan's family is familiar with prison – her father Michael was sentenced to four years behind bars for fraud in the late 1980s.
