By Becky Turner on Wednesday, 27 Jun 2007 A man has scooped a massive jackpot in Canada and has revealed that he plans to splash out on a new chess board.
Rather than buying a sports car or a mansion with fantastic views across Ontario where he lives, Graham Gelineau simply plans to invest in a new board for his favourite game.
The 55-year-old won a massive C$37 million (£17.2 million) lottery jackpot and described himself as being "quite" happy.
He is by no means ungrateful, adding that he was "flabbergasted" and that to say he is "quite happy" is "to put it mildly".
Mr Gelineau currently lives alone in a rooming house and relies on disability payments but that is all set to change following his huge win.
He says that as well as getting himself a new chess set, he plans to begin renting his own flat.
The £17.2 million win is the largest a single person has ever won in Ontario which is Canada's most heavily populated province.
