By Becky Turner on Tuesday, 2 Jan 2007 A lucky father-of-two from Hull has described his surprise at winning over £96,000 while playing bingo at his local club.
Warren King, 33, said it was a "massive shock" to find out he had scooped the National Game, regional and club prizes at the Gala Bingo club in Sutton Fields, describing the cash as a "lovely" present for Christmas, the Hull Daily Mail reports.
"I only went on the off-chance, but I shall be going more often now," he told the newspaper.
Mr King, who works as a security guard, said that he will be buying a new house for his wife and children, as well as sharing the money with his in-laws.
Meanwhile, Colin Hargrave, an engineer from Moss Bay, said he "went white" when his wife called him while he was working in the US to say she had won £201,223 playing the National Game last month, reports the West Cumberland Times & Star.
Mr Hargrave's wife, Val, won the national jackpot having managed to complete her bingo card within 34 numbers.
