By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 25 Jul 2007 Winning £2,000 at the local bingo hall would be considered by many players to be lucky enough.
However, a lady from Northumberland not only won this amount but then scooped a £20,000 two weeks later.
The 55 year old claimed both prizes at her local club in the Post Office Square in the town of Blyth and has stated that she intends to use her winnings to buy a new car and caravan, with which to take her eight grandchildren away on holiday.
"I was on a high after winning £2,000, so to win £20,000 was wonderful," she said.
"I was so shocked though that I couldn't move when I was first told how much I had won."
She added: "When I got home my family said I didn't look well and thought that it was my diabetes.
"I told them, 'Yes, I'm not well. I've just won £20,000'."
After playing bingo since she was 18 years old, the lady won her biggest prize to date after completing a full house in just 45 numbers, sharing a £100,000 national jackpot with four other winners across the country.
