By Becky Turner on Thursday, 19 Jul 2007 A lucky woman from Cannock is sticking to a promise - by sharing her £20,000 bingo winnings with the friend who first introduced her to the game, reports Nationalbingo.co.uk.
The two friends had been playing bingo together for years and had always pledged to share any winning between the two of them.
At first the 76-year-old did not realise just how much money she had won, she told nationalbingo.co.uk: "It was a nice surprise to be told I had won the National, but my friend and I thought I had just got the house prize of £60 and we were happy with that. "I sat and laughed when I realised just how much I had won."
She said: "I am not one for going out spending for the sake of it and so I will put the money aside as a standby for any time I may need it."
The retired woman, who has four children and seven grandchildren, had only been a member at the club for a few months when she hit the jack pot.
