By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 29 Oct 2008 Roxanne McKee, who plays Louise Summers in Hollyoaks, is set to leave the Channel 4 show at Christmastime.
A statement on the soap's website claims that an "explosive storyline" will come to a climax during the forthcoming festive period.
The site also states that "rumours have been rife" for a while regarding McKee's future on the show, but now it is "confirmed" that she will be heading off to pastures new.
Louise is said to harbour a number of "bitter secrets", including the fact that she is in love with a man (Warren) who killed her ex-husband.
Will all of her hidden feelings and controversial secrets be revealed before she leaves the soap?
On the Channel 4 site's character profile page, Louise and Warren are said to be "a perfect match for one another's manipulative ways".
McKee gained her place on Hollyoaks after being voted top of the show's talent search in 2004.
