By Paula Wilcock on Wednesday, 3 Jan 2007 Visitors to BingoBase partner site Mecca Bingo can enter into daily prize draws aimed at helping to save the environment and improve the lives of less fortunate people.
Every day in January, players can help a number of wildlife protection organisations by winning the chance to adopt several species of animals, including polar bears, pandas and orangutans, or helping to preserve rainforests.
The site is also supporting a number of charities helping to improve the lives of people in Africa, by providing water filters, bicycles and school places for children.
"Save the Children are building schools in some of the most isolated communities around the world and this prize will pay for one child's place in a brand new classroom," the site says.
Every game played on the site automatically enters visitors to the site into the daily prize draws, giving players the chance to help.
Save the Children recently hosted a Festival of Trees Gala at the Natural History Museum in London.
The event, which was attended by HRH the Princess Royal, Davina McCall, Philip Schofield and Piers Morgan, raised £300,000 for vulnerable children around the world.
