The manager of a Yorkshire Mecca Bingo branch has offered a number of reasons why the company's latest scheme is positive for consumers.
Chris Colebrooke from Scarborough's Mecca property told the Scarborough Evening News that the energy-saving lightbulb giveaway to members will help people save money, as well as help the environment.
According to the bingo boss, those who use methods such as this can reduce their energy consumption, which consequently lowers their utility bills.
The message from Mr Colebrooke was that people can go 'green' without "being hit in the pocket".
Scottish and Southern Electric has joined up with Mecca to run the campaign, which has been launched throughout the UK.
Scarborough MP Robert Goodwill said the offer "is giving practical and timely help" to consumers.
Alex Salmond, Scotland's first minister, recently visited Mecca's bingo hall in Fountain Park to give his backing to the lightbulb scheme.
