By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 19 Dec 2007 A mum from Motherwell has brought it home for her family this Christmas.
The 73-year-old woman bagged £45,000 playing bingo and says she is now going to have a great festive season.
She told the National Bingo: "I was in an awful stew when I was told how much I had won
I was excited but shocked and I just wanted to get home."
Her luck struck last Saturday when she was playing the game with her sister and niece at the Gala Club in Orbiston Street in Mothewell.
She bagged the National Bingo prize as well as the house prize of £120 after completing house in a slim 43 numbers the lowest call of any of the 470 clubs playing nationwide.
The lucky lady is married with two children and six grandchildren and has been playing bingo for years.
She has also been a member of the Gala Bingo club since it opened and now plans to buy a new car with her winnings.
