By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 21 Nov 2007 A 42-year-old woman who struck gold on the bingo this week believes her luck may have had something to do with her mother who passed away four months ago.
The Rugeley-based winner, who scooped £50,000 at the Hednesford bingo club on Victoria Street in Cannock, thinks that she may have had a guardian angel on her shoulder.
Helen told the National Bingo: "I think she was looking down on me that night."
Making the win all the more auspicious, it was her husband Anthony who built the smoking shelter at the club where she won.
She said: "He built the smoking shelter at the Hednesford Club and we were there having his photo taken the night another player received her £17,000 national game cheque.
"I certainly never dreamed then it would be me a couple of weeks later!"
Helen, who has three children with her husband, plans to pay off her debts, take a nice holiday and buy a car with her winnings.
