By Sarah Smithon Thursday, 8 May 2008 A nan from Riddrie has delighted her family by winning £76,000 playing bingo this week.
The lucky lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, has four children and grandchildren who she plans to treat with the prize money.
She told the National Bingo: "My friend jumped up and down after it was announced how much I had won…I just couldn't believe it."
Her bingo career began three decades ago and she now makes a point of playing once a week at the Savoy Club in Main Street, Cambuslang.
She says that she will split her winnings with a friend whom she had a pact with.
Earlier this year, two women took their sister, Edna Sexton, to court after she went back on an alleged agreement to split any bingo winnings three ways.
Ms Sexton bagged £50,000 while playing bingo with Linda Kenny and Doreen Thomas but they have not seen a penny of the money, prompting them to take legal action against her.
