By Sarah Smithon Friday, 5 Dec 2008 The LTA has revealed its nominations for its end-of-year awards - and British number one Anne Keothavong is in contention for one prize.
Having won four events in 2008 - at Capriolo, Jounieh, Barnstaple and Krakow - the world number 61 is up for the Female Player of the Year accolade.
Her current ranking is the highest the 25-year-old has reached in her career to date and comes after a season that saw her make the second round of Wimbledon and the US Open third round.
While at Wimbledon in the summer, Keothavong received sponsorship from online bingo website PartyBingo.
The portal helped her with some travel costs, prompting her to write to the site to say: "Thanks to PartyBingo.com for being my sponsors during the championships, and I hope you all enjoyed watching me play."
Her rivals for the best player of 2008 award are Lucy Shuker and Mel South.
