The UK government has announced that it is to give interested bingo and betting agencies 14 weeks to respond to changes that are likely to be introduced in 2008.
Land bingo players will be able to play between 14:00 GMT and 23:00 GMT if the proposals are accepted.
Adrian Eastwood, a spokesperson for campaigners who want to change gambling laws in Northern Ireland, told jackpot.co.uk: "Betting takes place whether people like it or not.
"People who like to have a bet every day in the week still want to have a bet on a Sunday. You can't stop that desire if they want a bet and they fancy a horse or a football team."
Meanwhile, Gala Bingo, a partner of BingoBase, recently announced that it is to give five winners case prizes every day this month until December 24th as part of its Christmas promotion.
