Nurse takes £100k bingo win

A nurse from South Wales has hit the jackpot at her local bingo with a win of over £100,000.

The South Wales Echo reports that Joan Jackson, a senior nurse at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, collected the huge win on a night out that she had organised for a colleague.

The evening was planned as a leaving event for a colleague who was about to take maternity leave, but it was Ms Jackson who struck gold with her massive win.

"When I realised I had won, I had to keep calm or I'd have a heart attack," she told the South Wales Echo.

She added: "All my nursing skills came to the fore and I kept myself cool, calm and collected."
