By Becky Turner on Thursday, 28 Dec 2006 A woman from Clarksfield, Oldham, won a share of the National Game prize at her local bingo hall in time for Christmas.
The 46-year-old, who plays at the Mecca Bingo club, won the £50,000 prize, as well as £1,203 regional prize and £167 in house winnings, on December 16th, the Oldham Chronicle reports.
After winning the jackpot, the woman, who has played at the Mecca club for 15 years, told the newspaper that she was "stunned" by her win.
"I'm waiting until the cheque is in my hand before I spend it but my son will be treated and I will probably have some work done on my home," she said.
Meanwhile, a lucky player at the Beacon Bingo club in Cricklewood, London, won the Christmas Special National Bingo Game jackpot of £250,000.
The National Bingo Game Association claims that a further nine players across the country each won a share of another £250,000 prize.
