By Simon Jones on Wednesday, 14 Jan 2009 The online bingo industry has "grown phenomenally" in recent years, according to one industry expert.
Ravi Virpal, director of Bullet Business, the group responsible for organising the annual Online Bingo Summit in the UK, has claimed that the sector has developed considerably since its early days.
He also suggested that this has helped the summit - which will take place for the fourth year in a row at the Millennium Gloucester, London this June - increase in popularity.
Internet bingo has "grown in the national conscience", Mr Virpal remarked, before adding that his company's summit has become "the pivotal point" for the numbers game industry.
Bingo Business' website reveals that the event welcomed just over 80 companies in 2006, the first year it was run.
However, 12 months later, the number of firms present at the convention had grown to 180. Last summer, around 350 organisations were involved in the summit and more are expected this summer.
