By Sarah Smithon Wednesday, 7 Feb 2007 Rock icon Ozzy Osbourne is set to open the doors of Ozzfest for free, making the legendary festival available at no charge in an unprecedented move. Taking place for the 12th year in 2007 Ozzfest is a mecca of pure rock, attracting fans far and wide to head-bang along to a line up of bands. For 2007 visitors will be able to enjoy all the excesses of Ozzfest for free. Overhead costs will be met by the festival's sponsors while all the bands on the line up will by plugging and a rocking out, free of charge, turning Ozzfest into a proper free-for-all. "It's business as usual, except it's free," explained Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's wife and manager. "We want to encourage new music and new talent. "We're not about to have 20 chanting monks. We're not going to save the forest. We just rape and pillage and go home." Asked if Ozzfest 2007 might be a parting, pre-retirement gift from the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness, both he and his wife replied in the negative. So you can expect at least a few future performances from Black Sabbath.
