By Sarah Smithon Friday, 22 Jun 2007 Jailed hotel heiress Paris Hilton has been spending her days behind bars penning letters to fans.
Paris was locked up following a driving offence and recent reports have suggested that she is struggling to come to terms with her sentence.
Rumours have persistently stated that she tried to stage a hunger strike during her time inside as she did not want to use the loo which she shares with her cellmate in their cell.
It has also been reported that Paris has been crying herself to sleep and is getting ill as a result of the time she is spending behind bars.
Now though, it seems that the heiress is trying to come to terms with her situation by responding to the large amounts of fan mail that she has been receiving.
In one letter, Paris wrote: "I read your letter and just wanted to thank you for your kind words of love and support.
"The fact that you took time out of your day to write me truly means the world. Especially at such a difficult and scary time in my life."
Although the heiress seems to be coping better now than she was before, she may not be so pleased when she gets out.
Reports suggest that her Mercedes has been repossessed because she missed two payments and her neighbours are apparently attempting to get her evicted because the media attention she attracts is destroying their neighbourhood.
