A pensioner in Middlesbrough has finally scooped a top prize after playing bingo for more than 40 years.
The 71-year-old winner is said to be amazed at the haul and said that she is looking forward to using the money to treat her family.
National Bingo reports that the woman won the £20,000 Afternoon Delight award while playing bingo at the Gala Club in the Teesside Leisure Park in Stockton.
"I've been playing bingo since before the clubs started, when bingo was played in church halls, but it still came as a shock to win such a large prize," she said.
And it seems she should have plenty of people to treat - with five children and nine grandchildren the winner is set to be busy spreading the wealth around!
The pensioner is a regular at the Gala, playing five days a week, but this is the first time she has scooped such a huge sum despite playing bingo for the past 40 years.
