By Becky Turner on Friday, 29 Dec 2006 A pensioner from Peterborough is celebrating after winning a £100,000 jackpot at the Regent Bingo club in Spalding.
The 67-year-old woman, who is a voluntary care worker, won the National Bingo Game jackpot by completing a full house with the lowest call nationwide, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph reports.
To add to her stunning win, the pensioner then won a £200 share of the regional prize at the bingo hall just two days later.
Claiming that winning the jackpot "didn't seem real", the lucky player has suggested she may embark upon a luxury cruise with her husband.
"To win so close to Christmas is particularly fantastic," she remarked.
"My husband and I always have a nice Christmas, but these wins are the icing on the cake."
In related news, a 40-year-old painter and decorator from Cricklewood said he and his brothers are now planning to set up a new business with the £250,000 winnings he collected while playing bingo at his local Beacon club recently, the National Bingo Game reports.
