The 67-year-old fluky fellow scooped just over £20,000 playing at the Mecca Bingo club in Talbot Road.
In a hat-trick of wins, he claimed the National Bingo Game prize of £19,145 and then went on to win the regional prize of £1,005 along with the house prize of £336.
Duty manager of the Mecca Bingo club where he won, Victoria Slater, described the atmosphere in the bingo hall.
She said: "The whole club cheered and clapped and we congratulated him, but he was so shocked all he managed to say was 'thank you'."
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, has been a member of the Mecca Bingo club for three years but said he was taken by surprise when he won.
At Virgin Bingo this week online bingo players are being given the chance to win £22,643 on the site's giant jackpot.
Recent winners on the site include Danslim who bagged himself a quick £127 and julie7667 who won £500.
