A group of England footballers' wives and girlfriends were delayed while their private jet refuelled, prompting queen bee Victoria Beckham to launch a stinging attack on an official. The girls had already endured two hours stuck in traffic as they headed for Cologne airport following England's 2-2 draw with Sweden on Tuesday. But when they arrived, they were told they would have to wait another hour. "What is going on here?" Posh demanded to know, according to the Mirror. "A dog gets better treatment than this. It is the middle of the night, we have children and pregnant women and we have been waiting for hours." When the Wags eventually made it back to Baden Baden at 4.45am, they found that those who had made the journey by coach had beaten them back to the hotel. Posh, Colleen, Nancy et al have been plastered across tabloid pages in the UK and Germany since their arrival in Baden Baden for the World Cup. Their antics include Colleen McLoughlin, the fiancée of England star striker Wayne Rooney, flying 900 miles back to the UK to change the colour of her hair extensions. Friends of the Earth campaigner Richard Dyer criticised her for flying for such a frivolous purpose, noting the short-haul flights were the most damaging to the environment. "These sorts of trips or perhaps we should call them hair-miles are by far the most polluting form of air travel," he said.
