By Sarah Smithon Thursday, 11 Jan 2007 Ordinary Boys singer and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Preston, 24, reportedly walked out while filming BBC Two programme Never Mind the Buzzcocks when the show's host made fun of his wife.
The singer is said to have taken exception to extracts of the autobiography by his wife, Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton, being read out, the BBC reports.
The quiz's host, Simon Amstell, read sections written by the Big Brother winner about her experiences on a photoshoot for Marks and Spencer, in which she described the store as having been "too expensive" for her.
Spokesperson for the programme said: "Fans will know Simon loves to banter with his guests.
It's the nature of the show and it's not meant in a mean way."
Filming of the quiz show continued when regular team captain Bill Bailey chose a member of the audience to replace him.
In a list of the most popular names given to children compiled by Bounty recently, Preston rose from 1,650th place to 304th in the boys' names rankings - making it the highest climber in the charts, the Metro reports.
