A quiz fanatic has taken the top prize on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, the first person to do so in two and a half years.
Ingram Wilcox was a finalist on Mastermind in 1980 and has once before appeared on the ITV Millionaire show, which is presented by Chris Tarrant. That time, however, he failed to get past the "fastest finger first" round.
Mr Wilcox managed to answer all 15 questions correctly to take the top £1 million prize. His final question was: "Which of the following boxers rang the J Arthur Rank gong?", which he answered correctly with "Bombardier Billy Wells".
According to The Mirror, the father-of-five was badly in need of the cash as his divorce had left him penniless and living in a one-room rented flat.
"The money is much needed and well deserved," his ex-wife Rebecca said. "I'm very happy for him. I imagine Ingram will buy a house."
She also said he was a "walking encyclopedia" with a huge general knowledge. "Ingram quotes poetry and Shakespeare all the time – he has a quote for everything. If you want to know who said what he will tell you."
