By Sarah Smithon Tuesday, 3 Oct 2006 George Michael has been warned by his record label that he will be sacked unless he cleans up his act.
Sony/BMG chiefs said that he must stop drawing unwanted attention to himself and seek help for his reliance on cannabis if he wants to continue working with them.
The 43-year-old singer was found slumped at the wheel of his car by police in a west London suburb early on Sunday morning. He was taken to hospital and then arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis. He had apparently been on his way home after a night out clubbing.
It was the second time this year that he has been slumped in his car. In February he was found at busy Hyde Park Corner.
A source at Sony/BMG said: "George seems to be getting more and more unpredictable. He just doesn't appear to care what people think of him - it's exasperating.
"It is now at a point where we are going to have to warn him that he must start carrying on more responsibly or else we will have to seriously consider his future with us."
