By Becky Turner on Wednesday, 10 May 2006 Keith Selix believes there's a reason why he has won three lottery prizes this year his late wife is leading him from above. The 81-year-old former John Deere machinist from Iowa never used to believe he was particularly lucky, CBS News reports. But since his wife died early last year Mr Selix has witnessed a dramatic reversal of fortune. In that time he has struck lucky in the lottery on three separate occasions winning a total of $81,000. "I'm still thinking that I'm being led from up above," he said. "I'm firmly in belief of that." Mr Selix spends around $200 each week on lottery scratch cards, something which his wife used to tell him off for. However, he has now won $30,000 in the Wild Crossword confetti scratch game, the same amount in a different Wild Crossword game and a further $21,000 in the Doubly Blackjack game. Joe Hrdlicka, vice president for marketing at the Iowa Lottery, said that the chance of winning in a Wild Crossword game is one in 90,000. Repeat winners don't come along very often, he said, "but it does happen".
