By Sarah Smithon Friday, 10 Nov 2006 Bingo lovers in Bolton had a special guest calling the numbers as actor Ricky Tomlinson paid them a visit.
The Royle Family star took to the stage in his trademark vest at Bolton's Mecca Bingo, where he also plugged his new DVD game, Celebrity Bingo with Ricky Tomlinson.
Speaking to the Bolton News, Tomlinson said that he loves the game and even manages to play while holidaying in Spain.
The night's lucky winner, 87-year-old Flo Earp said: "He's lovely, very friendly."
"I always watch The Royle Family," she added.
Tomlinson recently returned to his most famous role of gruff dad Jim Royle, with a special one-off episode that drew 7.8 million viewers.
Meanwhile, the actor is also aiming for this year's Christmas number one with a novelty record called Christmas My A***.
But with Sir Cliff and the X-Factor winners also looking at the festive top-spot, Tomlinson has some competition on his hands.
