By Sarah Smithon Monday, 26 Mar 2007 A primary school in Bolton raised nearly £200 by hosting a special Easter themed bingo event.
Tonge Moor School's parent-teachers association organised the event which, also included lucky dips, raffles and a guest appearance from the Easter Bunny, the Bolton News reports.
Commenting on the success of the event, Holly Chaffe, teacher at the school, said: "We actually had the real Easter Bunny attend the event.
"The children had their photographs taken with him, which they loved."
Parents joined their children after the school day to take part, with pupils bringing in Easter hats they had made for the occasion.
The event was attended by 82 people and the money raised will go towards new equipment and resources.
In related news, Sinclairtown Primary School in Kirkcaldy recently raised £700 for Comic Relief during a day of fun activities which included bingo games and painting competitions, Fife Today reports.
