A 59-year-old woman from Cambuslang, near Glasgow, found it was second time lucky when she scooped a £51,000 jackpot while playing bingo - a month after being narrowly beaten to the National Bingo Game prize.

The mother-of-six told the Glasgow Evening Times that she had called house during the game a month earlier, only to find a player in a another club had done so with fewer numbers.

Describing her win as "fantastic", the veteran bingo player said she is now planning to spend her winnings on her family.

"I am going to share my winnings with my kids and my five grandchildren," she remarked.

"I haven't yet decided what we'll spend it on, but a family holiday would be nice."

Meanwhile, the National Bingo Game reports that a 32-year-old man from Leeds, who had recently been made redundant from his job, was celebrating after winning a £91,156 jackpot at the New Western bingo hall in Armley.
