By Penny Walker on Friday, 7 Sep 2007 A bingo caller measuring just four foot four inches tall could be in line for a prestigious title in the bingo world after making the finals of the Southern Bingo Calling Championship.
Jason Owen from Mitcham in London, could scoop the title of Bingo Calling Champion of the South if he impresses the judging panel on the night of the finals with his bingo calling prowess.
The caller, who works at the Mecca Bingo Club in Garratt Lane, Wandsworth, is in the running for a trip to Las Vegas and £500 cash if he's successful.
Speaking to This is London, Mr Owen revealed that he has a group of 50 ladies who will travel to the finals with him, who he has nicknamed Jason's Bingo Bunnies.
"I know I will be nervous, but I will try to keep my cool. They say the best things come in small packages," he told the publication.
Mr Owen impressed the judges with his calling skills and unique sense of humour.
